संस्कृत साहित्य का इतिहास भाग-1 पुस्तक का कुछ अंश : संस्कृत साहित्य के इतिहास पर प्रस्तुत ग्रन्थ की रचना करते समय मैंने संस्कृत साहित्य में प्रतिबिम्बित प्राचीन भारतीय जीवन एवं विचारधारा की ओर विशेष ध्यान दिया है जो, सम्भवतः, युरोपीय साहित्य के इतिहास लिखने में इतना आवश्यक प्रतीत न होता | इसका कारण कुछ तो यह है कि संस्कृत साहित्य पाश्चात्य सभ्यता से अत्यन्त विविक्त सभ्यता का प्रतिनिधित्व करता है अत एव इतर साहित्य की अपेक्षा कहीं अधिक तत्‌-प्रतिबिम्बित जीवन एवं बिचारधारा के सुस्पष्ट विवरण की आवश्यकता रखता है………
