पुस्तक का विवरण : उन दिनों मिस जोशी बम्बई सभ्य-समाज की राधिका थी | तो वह एक छोटी-सी कन्या-पाठशाला की अध्यापिका, पर उसका ठाट-बाट, मान-सम्मान बड़ी-बड़ो धन-रानियों को भी लज्जित करता था | वह एक बड़े महल में रहती थी जो इसी ज़माने में सितारा के महाराना का निवास-स्थान था | वहाँ सारे दिन नगर के रईसों, राजों, राजों-कर्मचारियों का र्ताता लगा रहता था | वह सारे प्रान्त के धन और कीर्ति के उपासकों की देवी थी | अगर किसी को ख़िताब का ख़त तो वह मिस जोशी की खुशामद करता था ; किसी को अपने या अपने सम्बधों के लिए कोई अच्छा ओहदा दिलाने की धुन थी तो वह मिस जोशी की अराधना करता था……….

Pustak ka vivaran : Un dinon Miss Joshi bambee sabhy-samaaj kee raadhika thi. To vah ek chhotie-si kanya-paathashaala ki adhyaapika, par usaka thaat-baat, maan-sammaan badi-bado dhan-raaniyon ko bhi lajjit karata tha. Vah ek bade mahal mein rahati thi jo isi zamaane mein sitaara ke mahaaraana ka nivaas-sthaan tha. Vahaan saare din nagar ke raeeson, raajon, raajon-karmachaariyon ka rtaata laga rahata tha. Vah saare praant ke dhan aur keerti ke upaasakon kee devi thi. Agar kisi ko khitaab ka khat to vah Miss Joshi ki khushaamad karata tha; kisi ko apane ya apane sambadhon ke lie koi achchha ohada dilaane ki dhun thee to vah Miss Joshi ki araadhana karata tha……….

Book Description : In those days Miss Joshi was the Radhika of Bombay Civil Society. So she was the teacher of a small girl’s school, but her magnanimity, honor and respect used to put to shame even big riches and queens. She lived in a big palace which was the residence of the Maharana of Sitara during this time. There the city’s nobles, kings, royals-employees used to be engaged throughout the day. She was the goddess of the worshipers of the whole province’s wealth and fame. If a letter was given to anyone, he used to please Miss Joshi; If someone wanted to get a good position for himself or his relations, then he used to worship Miss Joshi.
